Beta Marine marinizes Kubota industrial blocks

I've mapped each Beta diesel to its Kubota base engine. Order internal service parts as Kubota agricultural spares.

Beta Marine uses a Kubota base engine

Beta Marine marinizes Kubota industrial blocks.

Beta buys a minimal Kubota industrial block. There's no radiator or cooling fan on that engine. Beta then fits the marine kit: heat exchanger, raw-water pump, and marine gearbox. Beta then gives the engine a Beta name.

The internal engine is Kubota. Service parts cross to Kubota part numbers. Tractor, generator, and plant channels sell those numbers at a lower price than marine boxes.

The Beta internal engine code makes the link clear. I've mapped the Beta 38 to Kubota V1505. Beta codes that engine BV1505. Strip the B. You have the base engine.

Worked example: Beta 38 oil and fuel filter

I've mapped the Beta 38 to a Kubota V1505. The filters are stock Kubota 05-series spin-ons.

The Kubota or aftermarket number usually costs less than the Beta-branded box.

See the oil filter chart.

See the fuel filter chart.

Find parts for your Beta

  1. Open your model in the table above.
  2. Open the Industrial / tractor part equivalents view. That view lists parts for the Kubota block.
  3. For a worked savings page, open the Beta 38 savings view.
  4. For raw-water pump impellers, open the impeller cross-reference chart.
A base engine match is a strong buying lead. Kubota part numbers supersede over time. Beta sometimes fits different auxiliaries. If you order, confirm the number with a Kubota dealer first. Read more in Methodology.

Marine hardware you still buy as Beta

Beta adds value as a marinizer through the kit around the block. Buy these as marine or pump-maker parts:

The impeller inside the raw-water pump uses a Jabsco, Johnson, or Sierra number. See the impeller chart. The pump housing, cam, and pulley stay marine.

Filters, gaskets, pistons, and bearings cross to Kubota. The seawater side and gearbox stay Beta.

How to confirm the block

  1. If the engine plate shows a Beta code such as BV1505, strip the B prefix.
  2. Read BV1505 as Kubota V1505. Look for a Kubota serial on the plate as well.
  3. Match displacement and cylinder count to the table.
  4. In this Kubota family, Z means 2-cylinder, D means 3-cylinder, and V means 4-cylinder.
  5. If a boat has a replacement engine, trust the plate.

Worked example: impeller on a small Beta

Early Beta 10 to 38 installations often use the Johnson F4 pump. That impeller is Group A on the impeller chart.

The Group A set is Jabsco 653-0001, Johnson 09-810B, Sierra 23-3307, JMP 7050-01K, and Beta 207-05355.

If you order, measure OD, width, blades, and drive first. Beta changed pumps across years on the same model name.

FAQ

Is every Beta a Kubota?

In the range I cover, yes. Beta marinizes Kubota blocks.

Can I use a tractor thermostat housing?

Use one only if it matches the marine installation. Many Beta engines use Kubota thermostats in a marine housing. Confirm the housing and the wax pellet as separate parts.

Where is the savings view?

From the engine page, open Industrial / tractor part equivalents. Example: Beta 38.
