Marine raw-water pump impeller cross-reference chart (Jabsco / Johnson / Sierra)
Cross-reference chart for marine diesel raw-water pump impellers. Jabsco, Johnson, Sierra, and JMP equivalents group by pump for Beta, Volvo Penta, Ford Lehman, Sabre, BMC, and more.
Buy the impeller by pump group
A raw-water pump impeller wears out. Marine marques such as Beta, Volvo Penta, and Nanni resell Jabsco and Johnson impellers. They use their own part numbers and add a markup. Match your pump to the group below. Then buy the Jabsco, Johnson, Sierra, or JMP number.
Identify by the pump.
The same engine can leave the factory with different pumps over the years. Measure your old impeller before you order. Record outside diameter, width, blade count, and drive type. Then match those values to a group.
Group A: small 6-blade, pin drive (about 51 x 22 mm)
This impeller fits the Johnson F4 pump on smaller Kubota-based engines. Examples include early pumps on Beta 10-38.
| Maker | Part № |
|---|---|
| Jabsco | 653-0001 |
| Johnson | 09-810B / 09-810B-1 |
| Sierra | 23-3307 |
| JMP | 7050-01K |
| Beta Marine (OEM) | 207-05355 |
| Westerbeke (OEM) | 34440 / 034440 |
| Yanmar (OEM) | 128990-42200 |
Group B: 12-blade, spline drive (about 57 x 31.5 mm)
This is the Johnson F5B-9 pump impeller. This group is the most common marine impeller in the range I cover. It covers Beta 43-60, all BMC/Newage marine engines, Ford Lehman SP90/SP135, and Sabre 120. It also covers many Volvo Penta and Perkins pumps.
| Maker | Part № |
|---|---|
| Jabsco | 1210-0001 |
| Johnson | 09-1027B / 09-1027B-1 |
| Sierra | 18-3081 |
| JMP | 7100-01K |
| Beta Marine (OEM) | 207-80800 (was 207-09042) |

| Perkins (OEM) | 460038 |
| Yanmar (OEM) | 129470-42532 |
Group C: 8-blade, spline drive (about 65 x 50 mm)
This larger raw-water pump sits on bigger blocks. Examples include Beta 75-90 and larger Volvo Penta units.
| Maker | Part № |

| Jabsco | 920-0001 |
| Johnson | 09-1028B |
| Sierra | 23-3308 |

Ford 2700-series (Lehman / Sabre / Mermaid) belt-driven pump
The belt-driven raw-water pump on Ford Dorset/Dover 2700-series blocks takes a 6-blade impeller. Use Jabsco 920-0001, Sierra 18-3018, and Johnson 09-801B. The Johnson cross has a single source. Verify that Johnson number before you buy.
Notes
- Where a number shows OEM, the marine marque sells that same impeller in its own box. You can usually save if you buy the Jabsco, Johnson, or Sierra number.
- Kits vs bare impellers: JMP
…-01Kand many Jabsco/Sierra kit numbers include the O-ring or gasket. A bare impeller uses a different suffix.
Some Sierra crosses and the Ford Johnson cross have the grade likely or unverified. Measure your impeller. Confirm the number with a supplier before you order. See Methodology. Related: the Beta and Ford base-engine guides.
How to measure an impeller (do this before you trust a model chart)
The same marine model can leave the factory with different raw-water pumps over a ten-year run. Charts that key only to "Beta 38" will fail over time. Measure the old impeller.
- Measure the outside diameter of the rubber, not the hub, in millimeters.
- Measure the width (thickness) of the rubber in millimeters.
- Count the blades.
- Identify the drive type on the hub: pin, spline, or keyed.
- If the pump shows a rotation mark, record clockwise or counter-clockwise.
A mirror impeller will fit the bore and still not pump. Match those five facts to a group above. If nothing matches, don't pick the nearest OD. That choice can melt a pump.
Kits versus a bare impeller
JMP numbers that end with 01K include the cover O-ring or gasket. Many Jabsco and Sierra kit SKUs include the same seal. A bare impeller uses a different suffix or a different Sierra line. If you only need rubber, the kit costs more but still fits. If you need the O-ring, a bare impeller will leak.
Why the engine model is a hint
A Beta 38 with an F4 pump takes Group A (653-0001). A later installation on a similar Kubota block may use a larger Johnson pump. Volvo Penta reused Jabsco 1210-0001 (Group B) across several engines. Volvo listed more than one Volvo number for the same rubber (825940 / 860203 / 875811). Identify the pump, then the impeller.
What you still buy as a marine part
The impeller is a wear item with broad aftermarket interchange. The pump housing, cam, wear plate, pulley and shaft seal stay marine or pump-maker parts. See what you still buy as a marine part.
